Yves Saint Laurent “Muse Two Artisanal Recycled”

This is such a classic style and the recycled fabric looks like it has an amazing texture. What a wonderful creation.

The iconic bag by Yves Saint Laurent is receiving an aesthetic update that’s globally conscious to boot. The “Muse Two,” one of the house’s most famous-ever designs got a chic makeover, thanks to the women of Burkina Faso, West Africa and their brilliant artisanal handiwork. Burkina Faso’s Gafreh Association, an organization led by women to bring women to self-sustainability, has developed a rare technique for producing a textile made solely out of recycled plastic bags and woven cotton (made at fair trade by YSL). Isn’t it incredible that old grocery bags and simple cotton could amount to a bag this divinely luxe? The fact that a mere sixty unique bags have been produced means the edition is even more special.

Women with resilience and innovation creating handbags for women of high style and high-awareness – I can’t think of a better union.
