OH boy…I could write odes cheap louis vuitton, sonnets, and volumes upon volumes on the wonders of Club Coach Outlet Store, one of my favorite MAC eye shadows. But I’ll spare ya and get down to business.

Club eye shadow came into my MAC collection as one of the shadows in the Holiday 2006 Smoked Eyes Palette. At first glance it’s kind of dirty looking and scary. It reminded me of oily puddles in the middle of the road on a rainy day – black, gray, green and blue at the same time. I didn’t think I’d be able to wear it at all.

Once I got it on my eyes – wow. Club shows up on my lids as brown with flashes of green and blue. It’s a pretty, multi-dimensional, versatile color.

I wear it toned down during the day by using it in the crease with MAC’s 224 Blending Brush, or on the lid with MAC’s 252 Large Shader Brush. For nights out, I get a sultrier look by wetting the 252 brush and packing the color down on the lid coach factory outlet store, or using it as a liner with a wet 266 Small Angle Brush.

The Jouer Mini Tinted Lip Enhancer Collection and Glossy Holiday Weddings

Jouer’s new Mini Tinted Lip Enhancer Collection ($25) is technically a holiday release, but doesn’t it look more bridal from here?

Perhaps Jouer had a Christmas wedding in mind (FUN!)?

The company, a relatively new indie line launched back in 2008, sells a full line of makeup, a handful of brushes and bags, and a small (but lovely) collection of body products.

Their colors, packaging and non-fussy style remind me of a beauty Banana Republic, but they’re nowhere near as widespread. If you can’t find them locally, they are sold online and, while this will be out of the way for anyone outside the New York area, at the Henri Bendel store on Fifth Avenue.

The Mini Tinted Lip Enchancer set comes with three little 0.15-oz. tubes of their sheer gloss in Bellini (peach), Champagne (nude) and Shiraz (berry), as well as a very small gold pouch to store them (not shown).

The colors are completely new additions to the line, but they’re essentially tinted versions of the company’s moisturizing Lip Enhancer ($14), which hydrates kissers with vitamin E, shea butter and jojoba oil.

The glosses feel thin, slick and non-sticky on my lips, and have a short-lived, faint brown sugar scent (which I like; reminds me of Josie Maran glosses).

But speaking of short-lived, these don’t have the greatest wear time. In fact, I’d say it’s only about an hour, and, beyond that, I actually find them unexpectedly drying. After a few hours of applying and reapplying them, I swear my lips feel drier and tighter than before.

For me, these are a case of form over function. I the style, but I do wish they lasted longer, felt more hydrating on my lips and came in larger tubes for the price.

Picking the Perfect Urban Decay Baked Bronzer

Urban Decay’s three new Baked Bronzers for Face and Body ($26 each) probably won’t satisfy the Oompa-Loompas or Snookies of the world. Able to be worn wet or dry on the face, eyes, lips and body, the faux tan these powder bronzers bring doesn’t look as orange that.

But if you’re interested yet unsure which Baked Bronzer to snag, Urban Decay International Makeup Artist Eric Jimenez suggests following these steps:

1. Decide on a level of color and coverage

These Baked Bronzers come in three different levels of color. The lightest is Gilded, Baked is the medium, and Toasted is the darkest shade. Each also varies in terms of coverage, with Gilded offering the least, and Toasted delivering more of a full-coverage look.

2. Do you want to shimmer or matte?

If you plan to wear them on your face, Eric suggests going with the finish that best suits the condition of your skin. If you have great, practically flawless skin, consider either Gilded, which has a shimmery golden finish, or Baked, which has a shimmery silver finish. (NOTE: The “veins” of shimmer in these new Baked Bronzers are not spray overlays; they penetrate all the way through the entire pan ).

Since shimmers tend to emphasize things like fine lines, pore size and oily skin, if you’re dealing with bothersome skin issues, Eric recommends Toasted, which has a more forgiving matte finish.

Yeti—the Portland based journal—just published an interview I conducted with Nicola Bowery.

I had visited Nicola Bowery—wife of the late Leigh Bowery—in her Brighton, England home last summer, to interview her for my PhD thesis, a chunk of which revolves around Bowery’s extravagant costumes and performances from the ’80s and ’90s. My interest in Leigh Bowery had been spurred by Hilton Als’ New Yorker profile Coach Factory Outlet Online Sale, which discussed Bowery’s varied “career” from fledging fashion designer to notorious club figure to performance artist—three strands of his practice which remain inextricably intertwined.

Nicola was extremely kind in taking the time to show me a number of her husband’s elaborate costumes which, having been painstakingly made to measure to Bowery’s large girt, appeared eerily empty—particularly as a complex systems of understructures kept them in shape, further highlighting Bowery’s absent body. Nicola also took the time to discuss her role as the slime-covered baby in the humorous, unsettling “birth scenes” which Bowery staged as part of his performances with his band Minty, from the early ’90s until his untimely death in 1995.

Letting it All Hang Out: A Review of Charles Le Dray’s Retrospective

The work of the American sculptor and artist Charles LeDray was presented in a solo exhibition at the Whitney Museum these past winter months. The magnificent oeuvre of his most well-known craft – miniature clothing (and other media) made to a maximum effect – has been described by Whitney’s Curator of Drawings, Carter Foster, as “transporting pieces”, where LeDray offers an uncanny viewpoint of ordinary (mostly male) clothing and its implied wearers.

The context of much of his work pivoted around the idea of male identity, and of that particular branch of masculinity referred to as ‘machismo’. This was construed rather deliberately in LeDray’s piece from 1993 “World’s Greatest Dad”. This features a small-scale bomber jacket complete with a constellation of patches referring to quintessential macho clichés. Machismo is often translated into instances of “superior,” exaggerated features such as physical power, personal virility and pride.You only need to conjure the character Stanley Kowalski in Tennessee William’s Pulitzer-prized play “A Streetcar Named Desire” to comprehend the concept of this certain male characteristic. The writings on the baseball cap of Le Dray’s piece designates the implied wearer as #1, the world’s greatest Dad (lover, alpha male, hero).

What is so interesting about the work of Charles LeDray is the way he speaks of a male stereotype in deliberate contrast to its ideal. In a rather poetic and gentle way, his miniature portraits (for his pieces are very much portraits of male identity) challenge these configurations by employing skills often associated with women – the delicacy of threading and sewing Coach outlet store online, and not least the miniature—so often associated with Victorian femininity.

Charles LeDray invites an exploration of the symbolic capital of clothing. The juxtaposition of macho ideals alongside the traditionally recognized female handicraft enables an unconventional understanding of society’s convention. This is seen again in “Army, Navy, Airforce, Marines” where LeDray’s ambitious portraits (un)intentionally diminishes man’s masquerade, presenting the ideal of masculinity as both complex and fragile.

With the exquisitely crafted “Charles” (1995) LeDray has constructed a miniature blue-collar uniform with clue as to the identity of the wearer: a name patch stitched to the chest. From this (self-)portrait hang several tinier items of clothing; colourful dresses, boxer shorts, pullovers, slacks, a brassiere, and bath robe. The complexity of this portrait can explain how costume is forever committed to concepts of identity, sexuality, community, and experience, all forming each individual, literally clinging on for their bare life.

Perhaps that explains why the real-life Charles LeDray is rather elusive. Born in Seattle in 1960, now living and working in New York City, he would rather let his work speak for itself than determine it. Preferring not to discuss his work, this exhibition surely was a way to let himself and his miniature male counterparts hang out more than ever.

I decided to do an update because I learned a new, awesome way of doing brows and I wanted you guys to be the first to know. How did I come up with this new way discount coach handbags, you ask? I shall tell you in great detail:

One day I was looking in the mirror and was saddened by my eyebrows. They just weren’t looking good. They were losing their shape and just…. ugh. So I went to the MAC store with my brow concerns and asked the nearest artist for some help.

They educated me on “The Art of the Brow: Fake It ‘Til You Make It Edition.” The whole idea is to use a gel eyeliner as a base to create the underlying shape and either blend it into the hair you have or use it as a template to create brows, if you lack them. They suggest MAC’s Fluidline in Dipdown, but I found a much cheaper alternative that I used in the video. I thanked the artist like 43 times before leaving the store with all this new information.

Last year, we were all about the maxi and midi length skirts. And while these two styles are still popular, this year, a new hemline has graced the legs of celebrities, fashion insiders, bloggers, and, of course, college fashionistas around the world. I love high-low (aka asymmetrical or waterfall) skirts because they are the epitome of flirtation: showing a little leg is always sexy, but this style is also modest enough to be appropriate for most occasions.

For this look, I started with this beautiful teal skirt and paired it with a polka-dot sleeveless shirt. I loved the picture of the skirt paired with a leopard print belt, so I decided to keep the belt for this look. Next, I found some contrasting polka-dot flatform sandals that are beyond adorable. Lastly, I finished the look with some key accessories like a studded bag, an arrow bracelet, sunglasses, and a ring.

Leather is an iconic textile in fashion that is surely here to stay. This year, however, we have seen designers use leather for more than just jackets and riding boots. Skirts, dresses, pants, and shorts have all been made of leather (or, even better,?faux leather, our personal preference for budget and ethical reasons), and we love it.

And I know some of you who live in hot climates might be thinking we are crazy to suggest wearing leather in summer. But use your judgement, ladies: if it’s too hot for this trend during the day where you are, try it on a cooler night out instead!

For this look, I wanted to find a faux leather piece that would work well in summer temperatures Coach Purses On Sale, and I found it in this faux leather skirt. To ensure that this look does not provoke memories of Julia Roberts ��?la Pretty Woman, tuck in a whimsical printed top, like this sunglass-printed one. This summer, mixing and matching prints has been all the rage. And unlike in the past, this season, it’s all about finding the boldest, most outrageous patterns possible to combine.

For this look, I started with a floral print romper and cinched it with a blue snakeskin belt. Now comes the tricky part. To keep the outfit looking fresh and stylish without appearing crazy, mix the floral print romper with a piece in a coordinating print that is similar in color and contrasting in size. This large printed floral jacket fits the bill perfectly. No summer 2012 trend roundup would be complete without mentioning neon — it has been everywhere this season! And while my mom likes to remind me how her generation wore neon first back in the ’80s (matching scrunchies included), we have found our own way to rock the trend 30 years later.

For this look, I started with a pair of neon yellow shorts (you could also swap them out for a pair of pants in a similar hue if you prefer). To keep from appearing like you lost a battle against the highlighters in the back-to-school aisle Coach Outlet Online, pair these bold bottoms with something neutral like a grey sweater. But because this look is all about the neon, I wanted to add in some more brightly hued elements, so I utilized accessories, like these pink earrings and watch, these yellow sandals, and this grey bag outlined with neon yellow stitching. Every week, I scour the web to find inspiring outfits on your favorite celebs and help you recreate their looks! This week, I was inspired by Louise Roe, Vanessa Minnillo, and Nicky Hilton. Read on to see how you can get their looks for yourself.

Look 1: Louise Roe’s Walk on the Wild Side

Louise Roe, of The City and Plain Jane fame, made appearances at fashion shows in NYC this week. She upheld her reputation of being a fashionista by wearing a black dress with a flowy bottom, a brown leather jacket, sheer tights, a light pink square shoulder bag, and leopard print wedge booties http://coachoutlet.myartsonline.com/, accessorizing with various gold rings.

We always talk about how a pop of color or print can step up an outfit, and Louise thought outside the box by choosing printed shoes, which are a totally unexpected and cool way to make your outfit unique.

A brown leather jacket is a nice contrast to the black dress and sheer black tights, and you’ll be sure to stand out in a crowd with the wild leopard print wedge booties. A rosy shoulder bag with gold accents adds another pop of color, and matches a funky gold two-finger ring.

Look 2: Vanessa Minnillo’s Casual Yet Structured Look

If you’re a jeans-and-t-shirt kind of girl, then this look is for you! Vanessa Minnillo turned dark wash skinny jeans and a graphic t-shirt into a stylish look by adding a navy blazer and brown knee-high boots, along with some oversize sunglasses. It’s amazing how such a casual base can be instantly transformed into a chic ensemble with a few simple additions.

To emulate Vanessa’s ensemble, start with dark wash skinny jeans – they will fit best into the brown knee-high motorcycle boots. Next, simply pick out a graphic t-shirt with a color scheme that matches both blues (the jeans and blazer) and browns (the boots and bag). This crimson colored “College” t-shirt works well with the navy blazer; carry a brown satchel or weekender bag, and if it’s sunny out, wear some oversize shades.

Look 3: Nicky Hilton’s Trendy Take on Blacks & Grays

There are some days where you just feel like sticking to dark colors, but I know I sometimes have difficulty putting together a look which does not seem too dark or morbid. But by?mixing black and gray, Nicky is still able to rock a low-key look with a darker color scheme, but because the colors are broken up, the ensemble remains balanced. Silver rings or necklaces add some bling to this look, and Wayfarer-style sunglasses give a dash of trend appeal. Finally, carry a slouchy black bag, and your look is complete.

Almost Famous is a movie about people following rock bands in the 70′s, and everything that happens along the way. Kate Hudson’s character, Penny Lane plays a groupie, or “Band-Aid”, that not only has and awesome personality and taste for fun fashion blogs, but also an amazing and fearless taste in fashion!

Kate Hudson’s wardrobe is full of looks straight out of the 70′s. Her look is rocker chick meets hippie, with a touch of straight up glamour… and of course, worn with confidence.

I finished this look off with a green cocktail ring, which again gives off a boho vibe and would be a great conversation starter.
