Mostly As: High-low skirts

Quiz-Summer 2012 Trends-High Low Skirts
Product Information:?Bag, Shirt, Sunglasses, Skirt, Ring, Belt, Shoes, Bracelet

Last year, we were all about the maxi and midi length skirts. And while these two styles are still popular, this year, a new hemline has graced the legs of celebrities, fashion insiders, bloggers, and, of course, college fashionistas around the world. I love high-low (aka asymmetrical or waterfall) skirts because they are the epitome of flirtation: showing a little leg is always sexy, but this style is also modest enough to be appropriate for most occasions.

For this look, I started with this beautiful teal skirt and paired it with a polka-dot sleeveless shirt. I loved the picture of the skirt paired with a leopard print belt, so I decided to keep the belt for this look. Next, I found some contrasting polka-dot flatform sandals that are beyond adorable. Lastly, I finished the look with some key accessories like a studded bag, an arrow bracelet, sunglasses, and a ring.

Mostly Bs: Leather

Quiz-Summer 2012 Trends-Leather
Product Information:?Bag, Shirt, Skirt, Shoes, Ring, Watch

Leather is an iconic textile in fashion that is surely here to stay. This year, however, we have seen designers use leather for more than just jackets and riding boots. Skirts, dresses, pants, and shorts have all been made of leather (or, even better,?faux leather, our personal preference for budget and ethical reasons), and we love it.

And I know some of you who live in hot climates might be thinking we are crazy to suggest wearing leather in summer. But use your judgement, ladies: if it’s too hot for this trend during the day where you are, try it on a cooler night out instead!

For this look, I wanted to find a faux leather piece that would work well in summer temperatures Coach Purses On Sale, and I found it in this faux leather skirt. To ensure that this look does not provoke memories of Julia Roberts ?la Pretty Woman, tuck in a whimsical printed top, like this sunglass-printed one. Finish the look with a bold bag and some hot red slippers, and playful jewelry like this ring and mustache watch.

Mostly Cs: Mixed Prints

Quiz-Summer 2012 Trends-Mixed Prints
Product Information:?Jacket, Romper, Belt, Bracelet, Earrings, Sandals

This summer, mixing and matching prints has been all the rage. And unlike in the past, this season, it’s all about finding the boldest, most outrageous patterns possible to combine.

For this look, I started with a floral print romper and cinched it with a blue snakeskin belt. Now comes the tricky part. To keep the outfit looking fresh and stylish without appearing crazy, mix the floral print romper with a piece in a coordinating print that is similar in color and contrasting in size. This large printed floral jacket fits the bill perfectly. With such a bold look already going on with the clothes Coach Outlet, keep accessories understated by adding simple touches like this bracelet, these studded earrings, and neutral sandals.

Mostly Ds: Neon

Quiz-Summer 2012 Trends-Neon
Product Information:?Earrings, Sweater, Watch, Sandals, Shorts, Bag, Sunglasses

No summer 2012 trend roundup would be complete without mentioning neon — it has been everywhere this season! And while my mom likes to remind me how her generation wore neon first back in the ’80s (matching scrunchies included), we have found our own way to rock the trend 30 years later.

For this look, I started with a pair of neon yellow shorts (you could also swap them out for a pair of pants in a similar hue if you prefer). To keep from appearing like you lost a battle against the highlighters in the back-to-school aisle Coach Outlet Online, pair these bold bottoms with something neutral like a grey sweater. But because this look is all about the neon, I wanted to add in some more brightly hued elements, so I utilized accessories, like these pink earrings and watch, these yellow sandals, and this grey bag outlined with neon yellow stitching. Lastly, finish the look with some classic black sunglasses.

What do you think?

Did you enjoy this quiz? What was your result? Do you think it matches your personal style? Which trend is your favorite of these four? Do you have any other favorite trends from this summer? Which outfit do you like best??Let us know what you think by leaving a comment below!

Celebrity Street Style of the Week: Louise Roe, Vanessa Minnillo, and Nicky Hilton

Celebs

Every week, I scour the web to find inspiring outfits on your favorite celebs and help you recreate their looks! This week, I was inspired by Louise Roe, Vanessa Minnillo, and Nicky Hilton. Read on to see how you can get their looks for yourself.

Look 1: Louise Roe’s Walk on the Wild Side

Louise Roe

Louise Roe, of The City and Plain Jane fame, made appearances at fashion shows in NYC this week. She upheld her reputation of being a fashionista by wearing a black dress with a flowy bottom, a brown leather jacket, sheer tights, a light pink square shoulder bag, and leopard print wedge booties http://coachoutlet.myartsonline.com/, accessorizing with various gold rings.

We always talk about how a pop of color or print can step up an outfit, and Louise thought outside the box by choosing printed shoes, which are a totally unexpected and cool way to make your outfit unique.

To recreate this look Coach Factory Outlet, any simple black dress will do, but Forever 21 has created one that is extremely similar to Louise’s, with an emphasized pleated skirt. A brown leather jacket is a nice contrast to the black dress and sheer black tights, and you’ll be sure to stand out in a crowd with the wild leopard print wedge booties. A rosy shoulder bag with gold accents adds another pop of color, and matches a funky gold two-finger ring.

Look 2: Vanessa Minnillo’s Casual Yet Structured Look

Vanessa Minnillo

If you’re a jeans-and-t-shirt kind of girl, then this look is for you! Vanessa Minnillo turned dark wash skinny jeans and a graphic t-shirt into a stylish look by adding a navy blazer and brown knee-high boots, along with some oversize sunglasses. It’s amazing how such a casual base can be instantly transformed into a chic ensemble with a few simple additions.

Outfit Inspired by Vanessa

To emulate Vanessa’s ensemble, start with dark wash skinny jeans – they will fit best into the brown knee-high motorcycle boots. Next, simply pick out a graphic t-shirt with a color scheme that matches both blues (the jeans and blazer) and browns (the boots and bag). This crimson colored “College” t-shirt works well with the navy blazer; carry a brown satchel or weekender bag, and if it’s sunny out, wear some oversize shades.

Look 3: Nicky Hilton’s Trendy Take on Blacks & Grays

Nicky Hilton was spotted on a run to the hair salon in some gray skinny jeans louis vuitton handbags outlet, black motorcycle ankle boots, a slouchy black bag, Ray-Ban Wayfarer sunglasses, and a cool sweater with a cut-out detail on the shoulders.

There are some days where you just feel like sticking to dark colors, but I know I sometimes have difficulty putting together a look which does not seem too dark or morbid. But by?mixing black and gray, Nicky is still able to rock a low-key look with a darker color scheme, but because the colors are broken up, the ensemble remains balanced. Her trendy accessories authentic coach handbags outlet online, as well as her shirt’s unique cut-out detailing make this basic look anything but.

To create a look similar to Nicky’s, try gray skinny jeans tucked into some black ankle boots with tough detailing, like straps and buckles. The unique cardigan with cut-out detailing on the shoulders can be found at Asos, though finding other sweaters with cut-outs may prove to be a bit of a challenge. However, many stores now sell t-shirts with cut-out detailing, which would work equally well with the look. Silver rings or necklaces add some bling to this look, and Wayfarer-style sunglasses give a dash of trend appeal. Finally, carry a slouchy black bag, and your look is complete.

Inspired by… Almost Famous

Inspired by… Almost Famous Coach Outlet Coupon

Almost Famous

Almost Famous is a movie about people following rock bands in the 70′s, and everything that happens along the way. Kate Hudson’s character, Penny Lane plays a groupie, or “Band-Aid”, that not only has and awesome personality and taste for fun fashion blogs, but also an amazing and fearless taste in fashion!

Kate Hudson’s wardrobe is full of looks straight out of the 70′s. Her look is rocker chick meets hippie, with a touch of straight up glamour… and of course, worn with confidence.

Although Kate Hudson’s character manages to flawlessly pull off many over-the-top 70′s looks coach outlet online, I’ve paired together four slightly toned-down outfits inspired by her look that are completely appropriate to wear today!

The Outfits

Outfit 1

This look is very simple and wearable yet still screams 70′s hippie chic. The tunic would be effortless to throw on over tights or leggings, or worn alone if you live in a warm climate. Gladiator sandals are very right-now (again perfect for warmer climates), while a fringe bag combines 70′s throwback with 2009 style.

Outfit 2

How fabulous is this dress? In this look, again, rich earth tones channel the 1970′s, while details bring these pieces to 2009. High-heeled leather boots are very Penny Lane, while the boho-fabulous cocktail ring could be a great conversation piece.

Outfit 3

A mix of different colors and textures gives this look an effortless, bohemian vibe. A loose tunic dress works perfectly over comfy leggings. The cowboy-esque ankle boots are a fun accent, while a braided headband is oh so 1970′s yet still right-now trendy. I finished this look off with a green cocktail ring, which again gives off a boho vibe and would be a great conversation starter.

Outfit 4

This final look is very simple but still has that effortless, “just threw it together” feeling. I paired a pretty long-sleeved green dress with a trendy fur vest and slouchy suede boots. Just add tights or leggings, and this would be a great day look you could wear right now!

Fashion Challenge- Wear a Tutu

Fashion Challenge: Wear a Tutu

Celebrities wearing tutus - Lauren Conrad, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, and blogger Rumi in a tutu-esque dress

Here at College Fashion, we’re big fans of pushing boundaries and making statements with what we wear. However, I’m sure we can all agree that there’s a fine line between looking quirky and looking crazy.

Tutus (to clarify, when we say tutus, we’re referring to both ballet-specific skirts and fluffy tulle skirts not intended for ballet) are fun, a bit unexpected, and a girly way to make a statement. But they can also be hard to pull off, as history has shown us. We all remember Lara Flynn Boyle channeling a ballerina on the red carpet:

Lara Flynn Boyle in a tutu

For the record Coach Factory Store, I actually thought Lara looked playful and fun in her tutu, but others had some not-so-nice opinions on the statement she made.

An equally iconic but more well-received tutu was included in the opening credits of Sex and the City:

Carrie Bradshaw in a tutu

I might be the only girl in the world who is not a fan of Carrie Bradshaw (I know, I know), but even I’ve got to hand it to her: She pulls off this tutu beautifully.

Finally, tutus have also been in the spotlight recently due to a little Oscar-winning film known as Black Swan.

tutu

Although the preceding tutu looks are notable, they don’t demonstrate how to pull off a tutu in the real world. Don’t worry Coach Outlet, though, it’s a lot easier than you think to wear a tutu without looking like you’re crazy or wearing a costume. Read on to learn how to rock a tutu, then take some photos and send them in to inspire other CF readers!

Tips and Tricks for Wearing a Tutu
  • Unless it’s Halloween, don’t pair anything tutu-like with a wrap sweater, leotard, leg warmers, or a bun – these items will make your ensemble look costume-y.
  • Contrasting textures look great with tulle. Fabrics like leather, denim Coach Outlet Coupon, or suede will keep your outfit from looking too girly.
  • Speaking of girly, a tutu paired with lace or sequins could be overwhelming. So keep the rest of your outfit toned down, and let your skirt have all the attention.
  • Because tutu skirts are voluminous, they generally look best paired with fitted tops. Add a cropped jacket for a super chic look.
  • An authentic ballet tutu might be hard to find, so try looking for a tulle skirt or dress. It’ll give you the tutu look without being too extreme.
  • Shoes, as always, are an important part of your look. I love how ankle boots and spike-y stilettos look with full skirts like tutus. For a really daring look, try wearing a tutu with combat boots or even Converse All Stars Coach factory outlet online!
  • Chunky jewelry will toughen up the look of a tutu. Try a statement necklace or a cocktail ring.
  • Remember that this look is supposed to be playful and quirky. Rock it with confidence and you’ll be sure to look amazing!

How to Make the Most of the End of Summer

How to Make the Most of the End of Summer Coach Outlet Stores

Toes in the sand

As September looms, college girls everywhere are prepping to return to the daily grind of college life, and many girls are anticipating heading off to school for the very first time. Whether you’re pumped for school or dreading it, going to be a freshman or returning for your senior year, one thing remains the same: you’ve got to make the most of your summer break before it slips away!

I’ve got you covered: read on for my tips on how I plan to make the most of these precious few remaining weeks? (and how you can, too!)

Plan Cheap Coach Factory Outlet, Plan, Plan

Ugh, planning isn’t fun. Planning isn’t spontaneous. Planning isn’t the way to squeeze the laid back, juicy goodness out of the dog days of summer! Right? Well, the answer is yes and no: There’s no need to obsess over planning out every last hour of your remaining summer break, but if you don’t make at least a few plans in advance, you may end up doing nothing at all.

Some of the best memories you’ll make this summer require at least a little planning. If you want to go to that Taylor Swift concert, you need to order your tickets before they sell out! If you and your besties are planning a road trip, you need to ask you boss for a few days off from work. Camping? No one wants to arrive at the campsite and realize you’re missing some essentials due to lack of planning.

Like I said, you don’t have to schedule out every last minute of your summer, but taking a few moments each day to look ahead and do the necessary planning for your adventures will ensure that all your escapades come to fruition.

But Don’t Over-Plan…

Okay, I swear I’m not contradicting my first suggestion. As important as it is to plan, you can’t let any of your planning get in the way of real summer fun.

While some events require forethought, some of the best summer moments don’t involve any prepping at all. So give yourself permission to take on an up-for-anything attitude this August, and try not to turn down the chance to get out there and have fun.

Even if you’re tired from work, even if you’re broke, even if you don’t like everyone who’s going to the party, stop making excuses and get out there. You’ll be glad you did and, really, anything is better than wasting your last few days of freedom watching TV. You’ll have tons of time to get caught up with Pretty Little Liars online this fall, I promise!

Finally, Soak it Up.

You can plan, or not plan. You can go to every party you?get invited?to, or only go to one. But what will really make the most difference during these last few weeks is how well you truly experience what you’re doing.

Be in the moment. Don’t worry about what you have to do the next day, or in the coming weeks. Don’t worry about what to name the photo album on Facebook. Try to focus on what is going on around you, right now at that very moment, and take some mental snapshots: remember how your friend’s laugh sounds coach bags clearance online, how the sun looks like it’s melting into the lake, how the fresh-cut grass feels in-between your toes.

Focusing on little sensations and committing them to memory will make everything you do in the next few weeks really worth it and memorable. The goal is to look back, come September Coach Handbags On sale, and not feel like you wasted a single moment.

So, what are you waiting for?

Get out there and soak up every last bit of summer that you can Coach Outlet, before it’s too late! I know I will be! Leave us a comment and tell us what you plan to do, or come back in a few weeks and let us know what your favorite summer memory was.

This polish really is as bling-y as it sounds: The gold shade has just enough simmer to make your hands catch the light, but is subtle enough that you can wear it without looking like you’re channeling Lady Gaga. (We love Gaga, but let’s be honest: Her style isn’t exactly suitable for class, or work, or your internship.) In addition, this color looks lovely against some of the plums and emerald greens we’ve been seeing heading down the runways!

Get Yours: Buy Glitzerland on Amazon.com. Offline coach outlet handbags, you can buy OPI polishes at Ulta, Trade Secrets, or your favorite nail salon.

2. Les Khakis de Chanel Collection- Chanel

Chanel always sets the trends when its comes to Coach Outlet, well, everything, but their nail polish is especially popular Coach Outlet, season after season. While their polishes aren’t exactly cheap ($25 a bottle), the real problem might be getting your hands on a bottle: The Chanel website literally went down for several hours the first day their new collection, Les Khakis de Chanel, appeared online.

Some good news: First, the Khakis collection is now back in stock on Chanel.com! But second Coach Factory Store, if these polishes aren’t in your budget, don’t worry: We aren’t the only ones studying Chanel’s latest colors. Use these gorgeous shades as inspiration, and go hunting in your local drugstore for similar colors. Milani is notorious for duping Chanel’s shades for a fraction of the price!

Get Yours: You can buy the Les Khakis de Chanel polishes on Chanel’s website, but hurry – these hot shades won’t be available for long!

3. Jitterbug- China Glaze

Like Glitzerland above, Jitterbug has just enough shimmer to make your nails pop, without making you look too flashy. This foil shade has just enough blue, and just enough gray to make it stand out from your average silver polish. Love the sparkle, but not digging the color? Emerald Fitzgerald and Swing Baby (also from the same China Glaze Vintage Vixen Collection) have similar finishes.

Get Yours: You can buy China Glaze Jitterbug on Amazon.com, or offline at Sally Beauty Supply stores, as well as salons and Ulta.

4. Sew Pysched- Essie

EssieSewPsyched

Just looking at this picture makes me anxious for my bottle to arrive in the mail! Sew Pysched in one of several new colors from Essie’s fall collection, and none of them disappoint. While it’s not exactly a Chanel Khakis dupe, you can tell Essie had the same idea about the hot shades for fall. This gray-green cream has a very, very subtle shimmer that will only appear in the sunlight. It’s the perfect neutral color for fall!

Get Yours: You can buy all of Essie’s polishes, including Sew Psyched, on EssieShop.com.

5. Wool You Marry Me- Barielle

In my opinion, no fall nail polish post would be complete without some mention of a really great red. This red by Barielle is a gorgeous deep wine cream. Barielle nail polish always applies flawlessly, which is why I wanted to include one of their new colors here, however, the color isn’t that unique. If you’re not up for splurging, you can find a dupe of this deep red in nearly any drugstore. Pick a red shade that flatters your skintone and budget and add it to your nail polish collection!

Get Yours: You can buy Barielle polish directly from their website.
